ACTIVITIES
---- UPCOMING EVENTS --- Dr. Will Tuttle at the Grant/Campbell Bookmans Community Room This Satuday, October 14th, at 8 PM, VRGT (www.vrgt.org) is pleased to welcome Dr. Will Tuttle to speak about his recent book, The World Peace Diet, at the Bookmans Community Room at Grant and Campbell (1930 E Grant Rd.) It's sure to be a fascinating and thought-provoking presentation. The World Peace Diet is the first book to make explicit the invisible connections between our culture, our food, and the source of our broad range of problems—and the way to a positive transformation in our individual and collective lives. Here is what people are saying about The World Peace Diet: “Use The World Peace Diet as a guide to empower yourself and others in making dietary choices that are powerful beyond what you can possibly imagine.” -- Julia Butterfly Hill, noted environmental activist and founder, Circle of Life Foundation “The World Peace Diet has raised the bar in the understanding of the diet in the order of all life on planet Earth. Reading this book will arm you with the information to become part of the solution and not part of the problem. Will Tuttle has struck a strong blow for the future of our children and grandchildren and you can too by reading this book.” -- Howard F. Lyman, author, No More Bull! and Mad Cowboy “The World Peace Diet is one of the most provocative books I've ever read. I felt challenged and stimulated by its profound insights, and called to question ever more deeply what Will Tuttle calls 'the taboo against knowing who you eat.' This is a deep book, aglow with insights that penetrate and expose the complacency of a culture that has strayed painfully far from compassion." -- John Robbins, author, Diet For A New America and The Food Revolution Mark your calendar now: 8 PM, Saturday, October 14th, at the Bookmans Community Room at Grant and Campbell!
COMMUNITY Our group is also active in our community. We give presentations at libraries and a wide variety of community events. If you would like to volunteer to help in any one or more of the above activity areas, contact us at VolunteersInfo or see our membership information. The VRGT is always looking for energetic individuals who can either help with existing projects or create one of their own. We need people who are excited about either working behind the scenes or with the public; speaking in front of a classroom, making phone calls, or hosting a potluck or game night at their home. If you have an idea, we want to hear about it. Come and join the fun: help us increase awareness, promote better health, more compassion, and a cleaner planet. |
